Why You Should Live and Work in Prague for Keboola

Our Keboola home base is in Prague in the Czech Republic which is a beautiful country in Central Eastern Europe that borders Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria. We also have offices spread across Europe, Canada, and the United States. What’s unique about us is that Keboola has a “remote mainly” environment which means we don’t have set corporate office hours where you have to sit in your seat (we hire talent, not seat warmers).

We have a new office in the heart of Prague 7. It’s a hip, lively neighborhood with a beer garden in the summer. Dare we call it “hipster”? Well, you’ll be pleased to know our office has a state-of-the-art recording studio with acoustical walls perfect for audio recording on cloud technology. 

Our neighborhood in Prague, Holešovice, was ranked the 7th coolest neighborhood in all of Europe! We are steps away from the Vnitroblock, a cultural center, and an old factory building, with spots to meet up for coffee, music, and tons of culture. Within a couple of minutes, you can stroll to dozens of hip places and be inspired by the people, architecture, and cultural surroundings around you. 

Prague has delicious beer. Some have argued that we have the best in all of Europe (while others in our company disagree but that’s why we have a no BS open communication environment). It’s also very inexpensive so you can grab a beer with teammates and friends most nights of the week and it won’t hurt your pocketbook.

Prague is a quick drive to many places and different countries. Germany is only a few hours in the car. Prague has great public transportation so you can get to many places for reasonable prices. 

Czechia is home to over a dozen UNESCO World Heritage Sites so you can spend your nights and weekends exploring culture and architecture. Clocking in at over 2000, Czechia boasts the most castles and chateaus of any country in Europe.

The cost of living in Prague is quite affordable compared to other parts of Europe. As of August 2021, Prague is 58% cheaper than living in the UK. Your money goes further in Prague so you can spend it on more fun things like travel!
