We’re happy to announce that we added R to our selection of transformation and workspace backends in our freemium accounts. Access a wide variety of statistical methods offered by R and model data straight from Keboola. No more context switching and working in a few different tools.

Run R Transformations

R transformations complement Python and SQL where computations or other operations are too difficult. While R is perfect for statistical models (for example, regression analysis), data scientists can now also do basic data engineering straight from Keboola. 

Create an R workspace

Depending on the size of the input tables, the workspace creation may take some time. You can review its progress in Jobs. When the sandbox is created and you connect to it, you will be taken to a web version of RStudio. The loaded tables will be available at the same locations as in R Transformations. The R version is also the same as in R Transformations.

1. Create a free account

Each account gets 300 minutes per month, which is more than enough to get you started. 

1. Connect data sources

Our library offers hundreds of out-of-the-box integrations with various apps. You can also upload a .csv file for the purpose of testing. 

1. Go to transformations and connect your R notebook

Under “Transformations”, either continue in the tab “transformations” or switch to “workspaces” to create an R Sandbox.
